ChemV01A, General Chemistry I
ChemV01A is the first half of the year-long the general chemistry sequence designed for those majoring in the sciences. It is a comprehensive look at all the major areas in chemistry to prepare students for higher level science courses. Topics include dimensional analysis, atomic structure, stoichiometry, VSEPR and Molecular Orbital Theory, solution chemistry, gas laws, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics.
It is highly recommended that students have strong preparatory backgrounds in high school level chemistry and algebra before enrolling in this course.
